Here is the current progress on a single story (+/-4,700 3 tenant) retail pad building in Sacramento that i have had a major part in. Completion is scheduled for July 1, 2008.

So in Sacramento’s incredible wisdom they tore down “The Alhambra” theater decades ago. This theater was a classic. In its day it was one of the premier theaters in the area. It boasted water fountains and had the hit of Moorish architecture.

Well now the theater is gone and a Safeway stands in its place. The Planning department has created a whole special district to make up for the theater’s absence. The building above had to meet certain guidelines in order to be approved. Hence the pseudo-Moorish, Spanish, mission revival influences. Its not quite stucco-terainian, and yet not quite urban. Its somewhere in between. Yet it looks better than the KFC across the way which was until now the poster child for the Alhambra Corridor.
